You can now take a listen on YouTube to one of its songs, “The Docking Dead” – an insane track that talks about the creation of zombies through a process of putting together human body parts:

The album will be available on CD with a Wes Benscoter cover art, a limited vinyl edition with an alternative cover, and also a digital version. You can pre-order “Omen Of Disease” here:

Broken Hope offer free download of new track “Ghastly”

Posted in News with tags , , , , , , , on 19th August 2013 by Nico Solheim-Davidson, the North Sea Poet

Ghastly, one of the track’s from Broken Hope‘s upcoming album Omen Of Disease, is available as a free download. You can download the track at this location. Guitarist Jeremy Wagner comments:

I’m really excited to have Ghastly released as a free download for the world – our gift to you. I have to say, Ghastly is one of my favorite tracks from the Omen Of Disease album! As I wrote the music on this song, I took riffs I’d been saving for awhile, combined them with new death metal ideas, and sewed the whole thing together to make for one of our sickest and most relentless musical tracks. Lyrically, I wrote about an unfortunate person who was born so physically repulsive from head-to-toe/inside-and-out, that the mere sight of the hideous form could almost blind and nauseate you. Like a Gorgon, but even more horrific. Hence the line: Ghastly…a horrid blight upon the eyes. With Ghastly and The Flesh Mechanic, I think these tunes will give everyone a good idea of what to expect from the entire Omen Of Disease album. Enjoy!

Omen Of Disease, which is Broken Hope‘s sixth studio album and their album since 1999, is scheduled for release on 30th September in Europe and 1st October in North America via Century Media.

Broken Hope reveal artwork for long awaited album Omen of Disease

Posted in News with tags , , , , , , , on 31st July 2013 by Nico Solheim-Davidson, the North Sea Poet

Death metal quintet Broken Hope recently unveiled the artwork for their upcoming and long awaited album Omen of Disease. The cover painting was created by world-renowned horror-artist, Wes Benscoter (Slayer, Hypocrisy, Autopsy, Kreator, etc). Broken Hope’s guitarist Jeremy Wagner commented:

Wes Benscoter is one of my favorite artists, EVER. In my opinion, he’s right up there with Frank Frazetta, Michael Whelan, and Todd Schorr. Ever since Benscoter did our Repulsive Conception and Loathing album covers, I’ve wanted to work with him again. I was beyond thrilled when Benscoter agreed to take on the Omen Of Disease project…and he nailed it! He’s captured the vile essence, putrid vibe, and apocalyptic, disease-laden horror of Omen Of Disease. Thank you for creating another masterpiece, Wes Benscoter.

Omen Of Disease was recorded between two studios: drums were exclusively recorded at Belle City Sound in Racine, WI with engineer Chris Wisco (Lazarus A.D., Jungle Rot, Origin, Gorgasm), and the remaining bulk of the album was completed at Mercenary Digital Studios in Zion, IL with engineer Scott Creekmore (Broken Hope, Dirge Within, Lividity).

Omen Of Disease will be released on 30th September via Century Media Records.

Cattle Decapitation Finish Recording Of Occupation Domination

Posted in News with tags , , , , , on 16th March 2012 by Nico Solheim-Davidson, the North Sea Poet

Cattle Decapitation finished recording their new album, Occupation Domination, last week and have returned home for a couple weeks before heading out for their European tour with Suffocation! The album was produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by Dave Otero of Denver’s Flatline Audio. You can certainly expect a much more updated production, along with some surprising guest appearances and the kind of musical exploration that garnered the band droves of new fans with 2009’s release The Harvest Floor. Once again, Cattle Decapitation gives us more extravagantly intense artwork from artist Wes Benscoter and the CD’s layout is as over the top as the album’s concept itself.

Some of the track titles on Occupation Domination include: Forced Gender Reassignment, A Living, Breathing Piece of Defecating Meat, and The Carbon Stampede. All of the details from the new album such as, cover art, track list, guest appearances, and pre-order info will be revealed in the coming months.

You can catch Cattle Decapitation at the following UK & Eire tour dates:

15th         LIVERPOOL – O2 Academy
16th         DUBLIN – The Pint
17th         PLYMOUTH – White Rabbit
