Victory records to host stage at 2014 edition of Rockstar Mayhem Festival

Victory Records have proudly announced that they will be hosting a stage at this year’s Rockstar energy Drink Mayhem Festival. All summer long, Victory will present the Victory Records Stage featuring the likes of Emmure, Ill Nino, Islander, Wretched and Erimha. The stage will be headlined at 4:25PM each day by Emmure, who will be touring in support of their new album, Eternal Enemies, out 15th April. This also makes Emmure the first band to ever play Mayhem Festival two years in a row.

This year, for the first time, the festival will feature FOUR stages of metal and hardcore with the Rockstar Energy Drink Main Stage, Coldcock American Herbal Whiskey Stage, The Headbang For The Highway/Sumerian Stage and the Victory Records Stage.

Tickets go on sale this Friday (4th April) at 10AM local time with the “72 Hour Get Off Your Ass” special offer on reserved and lawn tickets. Huntress post UK tour diary online

Banshee metallers Huntress have posted a video diary of their recent UK tour with Lamb Of God and Decapitated. The video diary can be viewed down below.

Huntress will return to the UK in June to play Download 2014 where they will join Bowling For Soup, Bad Religion, Opeth and Black Label Society as well as Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park, Aerosmith and Rob Zombie, The Offspring, Status Quo, Trivium, In Flames, While She Sleeps with many more still to be announced. Frontwoman Jill Janus comments:

Battlecross confirmed for Download 2014

Detroit thrashers Battlecorss have announced that they’ll be playing the 2014 edition of Download Festival. They will join Volbeat, SikTh, Dillinger Escape Plan, Suicide Silence, Buck Cherry as well as Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park, Aerosmith and Rob Zombie, The Offspring, Status Quo, Trivium, In Flames with many more still to be announced. The band are fired up for it:

Holy Shit we are playing Download. That’s a huge milestone in our career to be part of something so huge, so great, and so fun. I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about the festival, what an honor it will be to share the stage with the greatest and hardest bands on Earth. Judas Priest’s Rob Halford makes surprise appearance with Five Finger Death Punch on stage

Last night, metal legend Rob Halford, frontman for Judas Priest, surprised fans as he jumped on stage to join Five Finger Death Punch for a performance of their song Lift Me Up at the LG Arena in Birmingham. Halford is featured on the studio version of Lift Me Up, which appears on the first installment of Five Finger Death Punch‘s masterwork titled The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell, released in July.

Later that night the band, Ivan Moody (vocals), Zoltan Bathory (guitar), Jeremy Spencer (drums), Jason Hook (guitar) and Chris Kael (bass), announced they would be returning to Europe next Spring for their most expansive headline tour of Europe yet.  The tour kicks off with a performance at the just announced Bandit Rock Awards in Stockholm, Sweden on March 8, 2014. The band wrapped up their European arena tour with Avenged Sevenfold last night and finish the year in Russia with four headline shows. They kick off 2014 at Florida’s ShipRocked in January, before heading over to Australia for the Soundwave Festival.

12 more bands announced for Download 2014

Download Festival have announced 12 more bands for the 2014 edition of the festival. The bands announced are The Offspring, the legendary rock group Status Quo, Steel Panther, Trivium, Swedish melo-death outfit In Flames, While She Sleeps, LetLive, The Black Dahlia Murder, Miss May I, CrossFaith, Blessthefall and of course Dying Fetus. All 12 bands will join Link ParkAvenged Sevenfold and Aerosmith as well as Rob ZombieFall Out Boy and Alter Bridge at the UK’s biggest rock festival.

Aerosmith announced as third Download 2014 headliners

Download organisers announced this morning that Aerosmith will close the festival next year on Sunday 15th June, making the legendary rockers the third and final headliners for Download 2014. Aerosmith are one rock’s most infamous and revered bands. Fronted by the iconic partnership of frontman Steven Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry, their generation spanning career has seen them sell in excess of 150 million records, making them the best selling American rock band in history. Despite having been a band for over 40 years, their incredible, ever expanding collection of hits continues to appeal to hoards of fans both old and new. Their headline performance at Download 2014 will be their first on UK soil since 2010, speaking on their return to Donington Park, Joe Perry said:

It’s been too long since we’ve been to England and we’re sincerely f**ing charged to be coming back! See you there!

Joining Aerosmith on the main stage on Sunday 15th June as special guests will be Alter Bridge. The band released their 4th studio album, Fortress earlier this year to huge critical acclaim. It’s been the band’s highest charting album in the UK, hitting the #1 spot on the rock charts and saw them sell out arenas across the country on their recent UK tour.

Aerosmith and Alter Bridge join the previously announced Avenged Sevenfold with special guest Rob Zombie, who play on Friday 13th June and Linkin Park with special guests Fall Out Boy who play Saturday 14th June.

Linkin Park announced as Saturday night main stage headliner at Download 2014

Announced moments ago via BBC Radio 1, Linkin Park will headline the Saturday night of Download on the main stage. However, it doesn’t just end there for the Linkin Park news. The band will perform their entire Hybrid Theory album at their Download 2014 appearance. Chester comments:

We have been kicking around the idea of playing Hybrid Theory for some time and the perfect opportunity is Download 2014. The legendary energy of the Download crowd is the apex of the rock experience and we are very excited to share this special night with them.

Linkin Park will be joining Avenged Sevenfold and Rob Zombie as part of Download Festival which has become the biggest rock festival in British history over the years.
