Phal:Angst release new haunting clip for Hardwire

Posted in News with tags , , , , , on 15th December 2014 by Nico Solheim-Davidson

Austria’s premier industrial mobsters Phal:Angst have recently unveiled the new clip for their upcoming single Hardwire. The track is taken from the band’s new album Black Country. Having worked tirelessly to make a name for themselves in their homeland of Austria, Phal:Angst are now setting their sights on bigger game.

A stark and frightening clip, the band had this to say regarding the clip, which can be viewed down below:
The first video to the new Phal:Angst album Black Country is to the song Hardwire and it was shot in the legendary Viennese café/bar Café Stadtbahn which enjoys a perfect reputation with local bohemians, (sub)cultural people & heavy drinkers. So, a perfect ambience for Phal:Angst.
Also note the sign for "Kat’s Caravan" which was a regular event there and refers to the legendary radio show by Jim Lowe & John Peel. The "story" of the video is social alienation, boredom, voicelessness but also a glorification of slowness. It might not be a coincidence that this one comes out of the city of Vienna, well known for it’s morbidity, leisureliness and psychoanalysis.
It took the viewers of the test screenings usually about 5 minutes to start asking themselves "what the fuck?!”
At the end all questions should be answered.
Phal:Angst is an Industrial/Post-Rock-Band from Vienna, Austria. Formed in 2006, they sit between Industrial, EBM, Post-Rock and Doom; taking influence from bands like Earth, Mogwai, Coil, Front 242 and Neurosis.

Clémentine Delauney replaces Maxi Nil as vocalist for Visions of Atlantis

Posted in News with tags , , , , , , on 7th December 2013 by Nico Solheim-Davidson

Clémentine Delauney, who is best known as one of the vocalists for Serenity as well as the work she did with Whyzdom, has been announced as the new vocalist for Austrian symphonic metallers Visions of Atlantis. The announcement came about via former frontwoman Maxi Nil’s personal Facebook page. The full announcement is as follows:

I remember the first time I got on a plane to Austria almost 5 years ago, and as the plane was taking off, I was filled with happiness and excitement!…This flight was a beautiful journey, full of great times, and I got to meet beautiful people, make good friends and play around the world.

Now Visions of Atlantis Official and in particular Thomas Caser the only remaining founding member, wish to go back to the roots- reunite with some of the old members and play the music they used to play when they first started, something that fills them up with energy and makes them really happy. This is a decision I really respect and support. However, my motto in life is to be true to yourself and the ones around you, so I’ve decided to follow my heart and play the music that I have always loved, because to do otherwise would be unfair to VoA and to you, our friends and supporters.

This means that I’m no longer the singer of VOA, and my place will be given to my dear friend Ms Clémentine Delauney and I’m sure she will do a great job as the new front lady of the band.

I wish them all another great new beginning to their journey, and I thank them from the bottom of heart for everything. As for me…I’m embarking on the project I’ve always had in my soul, a band called Jaded Star Official, which will be a true reflection of ME as an artist. It is something different from what you’ve heard from me in the past, and I think you will enjoy it very much! Our debut album will be ready in early 2014.

My love goes to my partner in crime Mario Plank all my best to him and his band Austrian Hillbilly Hoedown and good luck to Cris Tían and Martin Harb with their future plans!

So this is not an end, only a different beginning, for me! We are all thankful for your support, and look forward to bringing you wonderful new music!

Here at Valkyrian Music, we wish Maxi, Clementine and Visions Of Atlantis the very best in their future endeavours.

Extol ink deal with Indie Recordings, comeback album to be released in June

Posted in News with tags , , , , , , , on 23rd April 2013 by Nico Solheim-Davidson

Indie Recordings have proudly announce the signing of Extol and the release of the self-titled comeback album, Extol. The new album will see the light of day 21st June in Norway, Germany and Austria and 24th June throughout the rest of Europe.

The first single Open The Gates is out now! Norway’s number one rock and metal radio show, Pyro, described the song as hard and heavy, but also melodic and beautiful.

Extol’s new self-titled album is a like a complex metallic alloy. The playfulness of the songs and the brutal bonding of genres are transformed into a fusion of atmospheric and harmonic prog rock, merged with the tempered thrash and death metal that Extol so uniquely master. This album leads us straight to the core of Extol. The band’s drummer David Husvik comments:

Extol is the album that was planned all the way, but never materialized. Partly due to changes in the line-up, but also because of the band´s urge to always reach for something new. The album is the recap of 20 years of Extol-history, both musically and lyrically.
