Death Valley Knights, classic hard rock/metal in both music and lyrics, will release a new single on November 25th, via Code 7, which will be the title-track of an EP scheduled for release the following week (December 2nd): “Nothing Left To Steal”.

After playing Bloodstock Music Festival last year, where they debuted their hit “Shut Up And Drink”, and several shows in the following autumn, Death Valley Knights went into writing mode for this upcoming 5-track release, that’s been engineered and co-produced by Phil Kinman (ex-New Device). Quoting guitarist/singer Jake Thorsen: “We’re really pleased with the way the material came out. Working with Phil was great as well because we tend to write the material in the rehearsal room attempting to achieve a certain vibe or feel to the music and he definitely helped us pull it off. You will bang your head and throw the horns.”

The band has a couple of shows booked in their hometown London for October:
1st October – The Garage (w/Gloryhammer) (tickets here)
27th October – Nambucca (w/Trucker Diablo) (tickets here)

Final bands announced for Damnation 2013

Posted in News with tags , , , , , , , on 25th September 2013 by Nico Davidson

Doom and sludge lords ConanBlack Magician and Iron Witch are just three of the final lot of bands announced for this year’s Damnation Festival and are cast of the newly added fourth stage. The Liverpudlian trio cement the newly added doom worshiping stage with the likes of MossMourning BelovethSlabdragger and Palehorse in the bunker-like venue which is aptly named Mine.

Death metallers Dyscarnate and Diamanthian complete the extreme orientated Terrorizer stage, with Rotting ChristVoicesVallenfyreNegura Bunget and The Afternoon Gentlemen. These lot will no doubt test the integrity and structure of the Riley Smith Hall where as Polish post-rockers Tides From Nebula add the finishing touches to the eclectic Eyesore Merch stage which will also be graced by the legendary Cult Of Luna, as well as Crippled Black PhoenixThe OceanRosettaYear of No Light and finally Dirge.

Of course, Damnation wouldn’t be complete without its premier Jagermeister Stage that boasts as its headliners Carcass, with the likes of KatatoniaTwilight Of The Gods, God SeedShining and SSS. Festival director Gavin McInally said:

Not only is this by far the best line-up we’ve ever put on, but it is also the most pleasing as we’ve been able to add a fourth stage with the support of fans who’ve bought so many tickets so early in the year while reducing the number of our much-hated clashes too.

If doom, sludge and post-metal is your thing, you’ll be able to watch every band from Iron Witch to Cult of Luna without wandering more than 20 yards while fans more interested in the Terrorizer and Jager stages will be able to catch the likes of Shining, Negura Bunget, God Seed, Vallenfyre, Katatonia, Rotting Christ and Carcass in one relentless day of music.

At just £34 a ticket, we believe this line-up deserves a ‘Sold Out’ plaster across it and with five weeks of sales to go, that’s our target, so please keep up the support.

Damnation will take place on 2nd November at Leeds University Union. Tickets are available for £34 from LeedsTickets, the official Damnation website or the official Damnation Festival Facebook page.

For Hildamay, this tour is both the celebration of their debut “Miles Away” first anniversary and the introduction of new material, like the upcoming single “Drag”, scheduled for release next month. Quoting frontman Tim Lawrence: » We have a few things up our sleeves for the tour. We’re getting to play some new places on the tour as well which is always exciting for us, and we’ll definitely be showcasing a few new songs from our next release, including the new single. «

As for Steak Number Eight, this fourth visit to British shores comes in support of “The Hutch”, released earlier this year via Indie Recordings. Frontman Brent also has something to say about this: » We are very excited to be back in the UK and kill your ears again. We can’t wait to hang out with you people and to drink gallons of foam free beer!!! «
